Is this a dating app? ▾

No. KakiMakan is built around one meal at a time. There's no profile-stalking, no "matches", no DM-before-meal. Chat only unlocks 30 min before the meal starts. After the jio ends, you decide if you want to add them as a kaki.

How is halal handled? ▾

Every venue is tagged: Halal, pork-free, or no restriction. Hosts declare dietary level when creating a jio (we don't independently certify). The Halal filter chip on Nearby is on by default if Halal is in your dietary preferences.

How does AA bill split work? ▾

Host enters total bill, picks even / each-pays-own / treat. App displays host's DuitNow ID + each pax's share with a tap-to-copy button. You open Maybank2u, TnG, GrabPay, Boost (or any bank app) and transfer yourself. KakiMakan never holds, routes, or sees your money.

What if a kaki ghosts me? ▾

After the meal, leave anonymous trust tags including "no-show". Repeat ghosting drops their trust score and eventually leads to suspension. Block them and they'll never see your jios again.

Where does KakiMakan work? ▾

KL, PJ, Subang Jaya, Kajang, Shah Alam, Penang, JB, Ipoh. Anywhere in Malaysia really — add a custom venue with the OSM map picker if your favourite mamak isn't listed yet.

How do you verify users? ▾

Live-selfie pose challenge. App prompts a random pose ("tilt head right", "smile big", "wink right eye") + on-device face detection confirms. No gallery, no borrowed photos. The ✓ badge means a real person took a real selfie just now.

What about my data? ▾

PDPA Malaysia compliant. We only read your location when the app is open (to show nearby jios) — no continuous background tracking, no location sharing with other users. We never sell your data. Delete your account in one tap from Me → Delete account — everything cascades within 60 seconds.
